Mountain lion hunt is by permit or general tag over the counter. While drawing a lion permit for our area is challenging it is not impossible and with the dream of hunting a trophy mountain lion in the Bitterroot becomes a reality for a handful of hunters each year. We hunt and fish this area 95% of the year and we often see lion sign while on other big game hunts or while hiking to high mountain lakes and streams. Therefore we know the habits of the lion and know where to go to find them. If you are lucky enough to draw a tag we strongly recommend you book a hunt with Montana Hunting Fishing Adventures to assure yourself the best possible chance at harvesting a once in a lifetime trophy. We will set your hunt dates once you have drawn your permit.

Description

The deadline to apply for a mountain lion hunt permit is August 31st.
Our Mountain lion hunt is eight nights and seven days. We use well-trained hounds on these hunts. The units we mountain lion hunt in is 240, 250, 261 and 270. These hunts are run out of our home base three miles south of Hamilton Montana. The deadline to apply is Aug. 31st. The winter season is from Dec 1st to Apr. 14th. This is the season when the use of dogs is allowed and the season we hunt. The permit price is $19 for resident and $320 for nonresident there is then a $50 trophy fee upon harvest.

The season is open from December 1st through April 14th. Call to schedule your 7-day hunt.
